Happy Easter
Did you know these things about one of the world’s most-celebrated religious holidays?
Turning 61
I love this season of my life…filled with grandchildren and fewer, closer friends and, hopefully, a bit more wisdom. I love being old enough to have learned there is nothing to prove to anyone.
Spare the rod and spoil the child
How you choose to train your children is YOUR business…but I’m offering a few things I’ve learned about this concept.
Beautiful Pain
Have you ever been in such a place of pain that no one could help you? No beautiful words from those you love the most could lift the burden? No scripture or word or song could pierce through the dark cloud?
Slow Down & Eat Soup
In honor of pushing back against the cultural demands to HURRY, I’ve been intentional about doing some things more slowly…more gently…more quietly.
The Sweet & Sour Taste of Forgiveness
When I was a girl in the ’60s in NW Louisiana, we didn’t eat a lot of candy or Little Debbie cakes, so when those sweet and sour pomegranates got ready, we were excited.
Happy Thanksgiving from Heritage Farm
I could go into all the reasons we should all be thankful…which would make a lovely post…but instead, I’m just going to go ahead and tell you one thing for which I am VERY thankful!
On The Occasion of My 60th Birthday
Welp, I turned 60 years old this week. That kind of seems like a big number…But I couldn’t find any sadness anywhere…only love and honor and favor and a quiet, slow-burning anticipation of things to come.
The beauty of healing.
As I walked around our land last week, I had a desire to share this story for the first time. I had a deep knowing that Heritage Farm is showing off the healing that we have received. The healing that took place in those deep, unseen waters of our souls has now flowed out, and become rivers in the desert of our life.
We added pigs!
Not only have we added pigs to Heritage Farm, but surprisingly, I am their main caretaker. I feed them every day either our leftovers or good non-GMO food. I pet them and scratch them behind their ears.
A visit from Joel Salatin.
Joel Salatin is a ROCKSTAR in the regenerative farming world. But it was just one of those things – a dream, if you will – that I held closely all these years. And through a series of unexpected events, that dream came true this month.
"Come out from among them..."
For the first 57 years of my life, each Sunday would find me in church. I am so very grateful for that heritage. With the passing of my spiritual father, mentor, pastor friend, Apostle Ball in the summer of 2018, that very long, beautiful season of my life changed.
A new year at Heritage Farm.
As a new year opens up before us here at Heritage Farm, our hearts and our minds are again renewed with a sense of purpose set before us.
